Natural methods of treatment are also known as Naturopathy. It is the system of healing in which diseases are cured by means of natural remedies such as light, water, air, heat, exercise, diet and other physiological measures. According to the father of medicine “Hippocrates” it has been said that the “Nature cures; but not the physicians.” Naturopathy is known by different names such as Nature Cure, the natural methods, the new science of healing etc. Healing by natural method is seen since many years near about back over two thousand years.

Ginseng

Although there are several different types of ginseng, most of the promising studies on ginseng and diabetes have used North American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius). Those studies have shown that North American ginseng may improve blood sugar control and glycosylated hemogobin (a form of hemoglobin in the blood used to monitor blood glucose levels over time) levels.

Gymnema Sylvestre (Gurmar): Gymnema assists the pancreas in the production of insulin in Type 2 diabetes. Gymnema also improves the ability of insulin to lower blood sugar in both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes. This herb can be an excellent substitute for oral blood sugar-lowering drugs in Type 2 diabetes. Some people take 500 mg per day of gymnema extract.

Vanadium is a mineral that is found in soil and foods. It is also produced at the time of burning of petroleum. It has proved to be useful as diabetes type 2 natural treatments. However, the use of vanadium without the direction of a medical practitioner is dangerous. In several cases an excess dose of Vanadium can become poisonous. Bitter Melon Extract has also been used by Indian ayurvedic doctors to treat type 2 diabetes. It contains a polypeptide, which is similar to the polypeptide present in insulin. Bitter gourd is a vegetable found in the  Indian sub continent and its juice is found to have positive effects on elevated blood sugar levels in the body.  Lutein is a dietary supplement, which contributes to eye health in general. It is found in yellow and orange fruits, and is also present in dark green leafy vegetables.
